When to go: November – January, July – October is off peak; May – October is rainy season and April is hot and high Tourist season.

Immigration and Visas: Must apply for an E Visa online before traveling  that is good for 60 days, otherwise you can get a visa at major entry points for $40, plus two passport photos. Always verify the latest requirements three months before leaving to make sure nothing has changed.

Accessibility Information: Laos is generally not considered very handicapped accessible. Some tour operators may offer accessible tours and some high-end hotels may be accessible. Language: Lao

Etiquette: Wear modest clothing, politeness and respect are paramount, no public displays of affection. Don’t touch someone’s head, remove shoes before entering a temple, don’t point, ask permission before taking someone’s photo, use a quiet voice. Respect personal space and do not make eye contact with a higher-up.

Transportation: Road travel is the most common, with boats also used.
