When to go: May – September is a good time to visit as the weather is warm, but is high season. December – February for winter sports.

Immigration and Visas: No visa is required for US citizens, however, an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) authorization may be required in 2026. Always verify the latest requirements three months before leaving to make sure nothing has changed.

Accessibility Information: Austria is generally accessible. Larger cities will have accessibility at major hotels and sights. Some transport hubs and most sidewalks are accessible. Language: German

Etiquette: Greet people using formal titles, make constant eye contact and shake hands when meeting. Being on time is important. Dress modestly and don’t call attention to oneself. Public affection and casual touching is not common.
