TIP SHEET: Belize

When to go: December – April feature sunny weather and clear waters for diving but it is peak tourist time. Shoulder season is November or May, and the wet season is June to November.
Immigration and Visas: US citizens need a passport to enter. Also, fill you will need to fill out the Belize Digital Declaration Form online or at the airport to receive an entry QR code.
Always verify the latest requirements three months before leaving to make sure nothing has changed.
Accessibility Information: Belize is generally not accessible. Some newer hotels and buildings in main cities may be accessible, but most historical sites and tourist areas are not. Language: English officially, plus some Mayan dialects, Garifuna and German.
Etiquette: Friendly, relaxed and respectful. “Island time” is a thing. Great locals with “Good morning” etc, before starting conversation. Modesty outside of beaches, no photos without permission. Take a small gift if you visit one’s home. Do not litter and be respectful of wildlife.
