When to go: May – June or September – October is a good time to visit as the weather is warm and it is less crowded. July – August will have warm weather but may be more crowded and expensive. 

Immigration and Visas: No visa is required for US citizens, however, an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) authorization may be required in 2026. Always verify the latest requirements three months before leaving to make sure nothing has changed.

Language: Croatian

Etiquette: Greet people using formal titles and shake hands when meeting. Show respect to others in passing. Being on time is important. Dress modestly and don’t call attention to oneself.

Currency: Euro

Transportation: Trains, ferries and buses are popular. Taxis in large cities.

Tipping Info: Tipping is appreciated but not required, about 10-20% for good service. 10% for hotel staff, tour guides and taxis.
