When to go: Spring (April – May) and Fall (September – October) if you want to avoid the crowds. High season is June – August.

Immigration and Visas: You will need a European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) to travel to Netherlands starting in mid-2025. Always verify the latest requirements three months before leaving to make sure nothing has changed.

Accessibility Information: Major tourist sites, newer hotels, transportation and most cities are accessible. Many museums offer free or discounted admission for people with disabilities and their caregivers. Accessible travel services offer mobility equipment, accessible hotels, and customized tours. Historic parts of cities may have cobbled streets, and some restaurants may have narrow corridors. Call in advance to verify and make specialty arrangements. Language: Dutch

Etiquette: Be polite and on time. Don’t point, use your indoor voice, cover your mouth when yawning, use eye contact when speaking to someone. Don’t be boastful, don’t wink at people you don’t know, maintain distance from each other. Beware of bicyclists, they own the road.
