When to go: May-June or September-October if you want to avoid the crowds. High season is July – August.
Immigration and Visas: You need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter the UK for short visits, tourism, business, or to pass through UK airports. Always verify the latest requirements three months before leaving to make sure nothing has changed.
Accessibility Information: Major tourist areas, newer hotels, transportation and most larger cities are accessible. Some historical sites may not be entirely accessible, and some older areas may have cobbled streets. Accessibility outside major cities may be difficult due to historical areas and lack of infrastructure. Call in advance to verify and make specialty arrangements. Etiquette: Be polite, modest, respectful and considerate. Don’t refer to Scots as Scotch (a drink) or English. Respect personal space, be punctual and keep your voice low. Respect queues and order drinks at the bar as appropriate.
